What is Faux Fur ?

Faux Fur is fake fur.  It is an alternative to real fur, and much more popular.  It can be hard to tell the difference, many people purchase Faux Fur as they know that no animals have been bred and killed for their item.  We only use 100% Faux Fur and guarantee that no real fur is used in any of our throws or cushion covers.

What is it made of ?

Faux Fur is made of fine synthetic fibres, and is usually knitted.  This can be dyed to any animal pattern design or colours.

Where are our products made ?

We produce all of the throws and cushions ourselves here in the UK. Although much of the faux fur fabric we use is produced and imported from China, some fur designs are made here in the UK. We also make all of the oak coffee tables and lamp tables. The Patchwork cowhide rugs are made for us by artisans in South America.

How many sizes do you do in your faux fur throws ?

We do a range of sizes, 9 standard sizes in total from a 39” x 59” (100cm x 150cm) to a 118” x 118” (300cm x 300cm). But as we make all of them ourselves, we are happy to produce other sizes if you need them. This also applies to the cushion covers.

What backing do the throws come in ?

They are available with either a faux-suede, a thin plain faux fur backing, or they can be produced double-sided fur (using 2 thicknesses of fur).

Will my faux fur throw shed fibres ?

Although we take great care to remove as many loose fibres as possible that occur during the manufacturing process, some may remain. When you first receive your throw, give it a gentle shake or ideally vacuum it to remove any remaining fibres. Under normal use your throw will not ‘cast’ or shed hairs, although sometimes some of the longer hairs can be broken off if the throw is sat on regularly.

How do I care for my faux fur throw ?

Please read our section on ‘Aftercare’ on our website.

Where do your cowhide rugs originate from ?

We source our Cowhide rugs from South America. All of our Patchwork Cowhide Rugs are made specifically to order by artisans also in South America.

How many sizes and designs do you have in the patchwork cowhide rugs ?

Both the number of designs and sizes is almost limitless. As you can see, we have quite an extensive range of designs that we have already produced. You can either choose one of those designs exactly, in the sizes listed, or you can use the design as an idea for something else that you might like by changing one of the colours of hide, or adding a border for example. Because different sized patches can be used for each cowhide rug, most size combinations are possible. Please contact us to discuss your ideas and requirements.

What are your coffee tables / lamp tables made of ?

Our tables are made from solid oak. This can either be European or American oak. We only use ‘green’ oak which is freshly cut timber with a high moisture content, or semi air dried oak. In both instances the timber may continue to develop splits and cracks over time; this is an intentional part of our rustic furniture and we will not consider credits/refunds/returns for this reason.
